Who is eligible to compete in this event?
o You have never competed in a USA Powerlifting event
o You have competed in a USA Powerlifting event but only in a single lift (bench only)
o You have competed in a USA Powerlifting event but did not achieve a total for the three lifts.
If you’re a new lifter and have been hesitant or intimidated to enter an event, this is the event for you! This event will be all about the brand new lifters. We are going to have veteran lifters mentoring the new lifters starting at the beginning. Every lifter will be assigned to a veteran lifter who will help them through the entire process all the way up to receiving you’re award at the end of the competition.
If you are new to USA Powerlifting, you must become a member of USA Powerlifting to be eligible to compete. Here’s a linkwww.usapowerlifting.com. Membership cards purcahsed after Nov 1, 2017 will be valid until Dec 31, 2018.
Lifting Schedule: Please do not contact me asking about when you will lift. All participants will be notified by e-mail of the final schedule approximately 2 weeks before the event. Please make sure to look from emails from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spectators Admission = $5 at the door (this includes coaches)
Under 12 years of age free
Awards: Awards will be given to 1st – 3rd in each age and weight division.
There are Equipped and Raw divisons.
Raw Lifting: As of September 1, 2007 “Raw” lifting rules require all competitors to wear a regulation one piece non supportive lifting suit. Wrist wraps and belts are OK. Neoprene knee sleeves are OK. No other support gear is allowed. Only raw gear approved by USAPL is permitted. See www.USAPowerlifting.com
Drug Testing: You must be drug free for at least 36 months prior to the date of this meet to be eligible to compete. At least 10% of all lifters will be tested by urinalysis. Banned substances include but are not limited to anabolic steroids and growth hormones. The complete list of banned substances is available on the web site of the World Anti-Doping Agency (see www.WADA-ama.org).
Lifting Attire: All competitors must wear a one piece lifting suit or a wrestling singlet, shoes and a T-Shirt. All equipment must conform to USA Powerlifting rules. See www.USAPowerlifting.com for details.
Entry Deadline is Feb 24, 2018
We will start a waiting list after Feb 24. You will be notified by email if a spot opens up. It will be first come first serve. This event has filled up within the first 25 days of opening registration so don’t hesititate!!
Entry Fees: Powerlifting = $85
All lifters will do Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift.
All participants must have a current USAPL card or purchase one before the meet. All memberships expire 12/31 of the year you purchased them.
• Women: 43k (youth, teenage, jr only), 47k, 52k, 57k, 63k, 72k, 84k, 84k+
• Men: 53k (youth, teenage, jr only), 59k, 66k, 74k, 83k, 93k, 105k, 120k, 120+k
Open = Option for participants of any age. Mandatory for those age 24-39
Age Groups: Youth 1 – 8-9, Youth 2 – 10-11, Youth 3 – 12-13, Teen 1 – 14-15, Teen 2 – 16-17, Teen 3 – 18-19, Junior – 20-23
Masters: Age: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Master age is based on calendar year, not birth date.
