USA Powerlifting Washington State Championship (WA-2019-05)

HOTEL :Unfortunately I was unable to get a good price at a hotel nearby. They would not do anything lower than $190 per night. You will be able to find a better price on your own through places like hotels.com or airbnb. I’ll update the website to reflect this information. 

This event will be limited to the first 220 lifters registered. Early deadline to register is Jan 10, 2019. Late entries will be accepted until Jan 25 with a late registration  fee of $150.00.

The 2019 USA Powerlifting Washington State Championship (wa-2019-05) will be held Feb 16 & 17, 2019 in Puyallup, WA.



Lifting Schedule: 

Please be aware this event will be a two day event. 

Feb 16: All women + Men 53kg-74kg

Check in: 7:30am, Weigh in: 8:00am Lifting will begin at 10:00am

Feb 17: Men 83kg-120+kg

Check in: 7:30am, Weigh in: 8:00am Lifting will begin at 10:00am

There will be morning and afternoon weigh ins. The session you lift in will be finalized after the registration deadline. The days each weight class lifts will not change from what you see here.

Spectators Admission = $5

Any USA Powerlifting member is eligible to compete in this event. You must reside in the state of Washington to be eligible to compete in this event. (If you are not a WA State resident, you may still lift as a quest lifter. You will not be eligible to receive an award). 

There are no pre-qualifications to compete in this event. All lifters will have the opportunity to set State and American records during this event. If you are new to USA Powerlifting, you can become a member at www.usapowerlifting.com.

Custom Awards: Awards will be given to 1st – 5th in each age and weigh division in powerlifting, bench press, and deadlift. Special awards will be given to best lifters and to teams.

There are Equipped and Raw divisons.

Raw Lifting: As of September 1, 2007 “Raw” lifting rules require all competitors to wear a regulation one piece non supportive lifting suit. Wrist wraps and belts are OK.  Neoprene knee sleeves are OK. No other support gear is allowed. Only raw gear approved by USAPL is permitted. See www.USAPowerlifting.com

Drug Testing: You must be drug free for at least 36 months prior to the date of this meet to be eligible to compete. At least 10% of all lifters will be tested by urinalysis.   Banned substances include but are not limited to anabolic steroids and growth hormones. The complete list of banned substances is available on the web site of the World Anti-Doping Agency (see www.WADA-ama.org).

Lifting Attire: All competitors must wear a one piece lifting suit or a wrestling singlet, shoes and a T-Shirt. All equipment must conform to USA Powerlifting rules. See www.USAPowerlifting.com for details.

General Information

Late entries will be accepted after until Jan 25, 2019 as space permits with a $150 registration fee.

 Entry Fees:   Power lifting (Squat, bench press and deadlift) = $110

Bench Press only = $110

Deadlift only = $110

Deadlift and bench press = $110

You may add a single lift for an additional $25 (example: Full Power + bench press)

High School-Power lifting Only-$75 (you must be an active high school student or home schooled)

Team = $65…. 1st-5th place. All Teams must be registered with the USAPL.

Awards:  1st-5th in all weight classes and divisions for men and women.

All participants must have a current USAPL card or purchase one before the meet. All memberships expire 12/31 of the year you purchased them.

Weight Classes:

  • Women: 43k (youth, teenage, jr only), 47k, 52k, 57k, 63k, 72k, 84k, 84k+
  • Men: 53k (youth, teenage, jr only), 59k, 66k, 74k, 83k, 93k, 105k, 120k, 120+k


Open = Option for participants of any age. Mandatory for those age 24-39

Special Olympic: Must be a member of Special Olympics

Disabled Lifters  (USA Powerlifting only recognizes Blind lifters as qualifying for the disabled division)

Masters: Age: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Age Groups: Youth 1 – 8-9, Youth 2 – 10-11, Youth 3 – 12-13, Teen 1 – 14-15, Teen 2 – 16-17, Teen 3 – 18-19, Junior – 20-23

Master age is based on calendar year, not birth date (for example, the year you turn 40).

You may enter more than one age division for an additional $25 per division.
