Getting Started is Straightforward

To become a State Referee, you need to:

Be at least 18 years old.

Hold a current USA Powerlifting membership in good standing.

Have at least one year of involvement in USA Powerliftingas an athlete, coach, meet director, or scoring table official.

Obtain approval from the Washington State Chair to sit for the exam.

Pass an open-book written examwith a score of at least 80%.

Complete SafeSport trainingafter passing the written exam.

Undergo a background checkafter passing the written exam.

Pass a practical examwith a score of at least 90%.
